I'm oh-so-pleased to announce that we have a complete Helen on 86th St. cast for our spring production. Joining us as Mr. Dodd will be the very funny and talented, Wally Dunn. You likely have seen Wally before...but, I'll get to that in a minute. First I have to tell you how I know Wally.
I went to a small liberal arts college in Providence, RI (Providence College). The theatre program was small, but very strong, and because we did a little of everything (acting, directing, writing, tech, etc.) it's served me very well as the producer of this Helen showcase. Every small college theatre department has a few celebrity alums, and Wally, along with John O'Hurley (Mr. Dancing with the Stars/Elaine's Boss on Seinfeld) were ours. They were the two "Blackfriars" who "made it big," so it's really something special to have one of them starring in this showcase. And I just know he's going to be great.
So, how do you know Wally? Well, aside from Spamalot on Broadway and a multitude of Broadway tours and regional productions, he's just one of those faces that pops up all over the place...as a perp on "Law and Order," as the doting husband who gets the wrong nighttime-sniffling-sneezing-coughing-aching-stuffy head-fever-so you can rest medicine, or as the gym teacher getting dissed by Jack Black in "School of Rock," and so on...
But rather than me continuing to sing his praises, you can just see for yourself:
Welcome, Wally! We are proud to have you on board.
